NARNiHS works to provide training in historical sociolinguistics through a regular course offering (and accompanying co-curricular programming) at the Linguistic Society of America’s summer LSA Linguistic Institute. The first such course offering was at the 2017 Linguistic Institute at the University of Kentucky; and the course “Historical Sociolinguistics” has been offered at every Institute since.
